Oregon

My family lives in Oregon so we have been fortunate to travel there a few times and I have been able to take Mike to some, NOT ALL, of my favorite spots. Here are a few places I love and we love collectively! Oregon is so beautiful and picturesque.

We love Ashland, Oregon. Some of our favorite places to eat there are:

Black Sheep has pretty good fish and chips, but we like going there for the ambience (English Pub) and the yummy scones with raspberry butter.

Two of my favorite places for breakfast: Morning Glory (a quaint, artistic restaurant at the end of town, & Dragonfly a Latin-Asian infusion restaurant in the heart of the city). You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but a couple of my favorite menu items:

Morning Glory:

Alaskan Red Crab Omelet with Artichokes, Parmesan, Scallions, and Smoked Garlic Cream

Scrambled Eggs with Black Forest Ham and White Cheddar

Lemon Poppy-Seed Waffles with Lemon Butter

Blueberry Pancakes

Dragonfly:

CANTINA CROISSANT: 8.50
Homemade croissant, with scrambled eggs, cheese, tomatoes, and scallions served with rosemary potatoes.

COCONUT FRENCH TOAST: 9.00
Coconut bread grilled with coconut cakes on a palette of raspberry puree. Two eggs and bacon add 2.00

ARTICHOKE SCRAMBLE: 9.00
Eggs scrambled with artichoke, cheese, green onions, and tomatoes served with crispy rosemary potatoes and a side of rosemary bread.

Other good places to eat:

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory:
Best Carmel Corn

Pangea

Fun Places to visit in Ashland:

Lithia Park has to be one of my all time favorite parks; it is breathtaking.

Home to one of the nations best Shakespearean Festivals—check out seasonal schedule and see a play in the outdoor theater.

Shopping:

Ashland has some of my favorite shops to stroll through; you can find the neatest clothes and souvenirs.

Prize has to be one of my all time favorites stores. It reminds you of being in a European vintage shop every time you enter.

Paddington Station
(where I was employed for three years)—an array of wonderful items from kitchen, clothes, trinkets, books/cds, seasonal items, food, etc.

Mike and I love
Urban Minx; it is a bit pricey but it is so much fun to walk through and find some good deals. This is where I bought my coat for my wedding.

Ashland Fabric store. I love fabrics!!! And I love the prints in this store! This is one of me and my mom's favorite places to shop when we are in Ashland.

B' Ella—so many fun things!

I honestly forget all of the names of the stores I love but there are a plethora so just walk up and down the main street and see them all!!!

There isn't much to do in Medford, but there is one good restaurant that we enjoy: Kaleidoscope Pizza!

Grants Pass:

A great time of year is Memorial Weekend. I love it because that is when they have the local parade, fair, and Boat Nik. It really is a fun weekend packed with a ton of fun events!!!

Another must in GP: Hellgate Jet Boats! These are so much fun to go on, just be prepared to get wet! I love going to the lodge off the river where they serve you a Relish Tray, then Tossed Green Salad with thier famous homemade Honey-Mustard Dressing. Piping hot homemade Corn Bread and Ranch-Hand Biscuits accompany thier own country-style Barbecued Ribs and Chicken, plus Fresh Vegetables and Ranch Potatoes are served for dinner and a wonderful cobbler for dessert.

Some great restaurants in Grants Pass:

Miranda Mae (The food is great and the atmosphere is superb! I love going when they have local bands play).

Blondies Bistro—wonderful crepe bar!

Jacksonville:

One of my favorite things to do in Jacksonville besides stroll through the shops down town is go to an outdoor concert at the Britt Festival. I have yet to take Mike to one but it is so much fun. Enjoy a nice dinner in town and then head over with a blanket to watch one of your favorite bands under the stars—so romantic and fun!

Cancun Mexico

Grand Oasis Resort

This is where Mike and I went on our honeymoon. I would say that any honeymoon that is all inclusive and in a warm, sunny place, is the best way to spend a honeymoon.

We enjoyed laying on the beach, swimming in the beautiful ocean, drinking free pina colada's, eating at a few good restaurants (let's just admit it Cancun isn't the best choice if you are wanting GREAT food, but the coconut ice cream—to die for!), going to some shows, ringing in the new year, zip-lining through the forest, and spending an evening on a romantic lobster/steak dinner cruise.

There is so much to see and do in Cancun, so this isn't an extensive list by any means, but this is what we enjoyed!
Relax, relax, relax!

Walk in the sand barefoot!
Enjoy a nice coke because the water, not so great!
Enjoy an authentic mexican restaurant in the city!
Have fun!
Ziplining in the forest and into a waterhole—so fun!

Kayaking and paddle boating!

Dinner Cruise
Romance!
Jumping/zipline off cliffs

Biking

"I love Amanda!"

Lobster and Steak!

Kiss a lot!
